Happy holidays my friends! My favorite time of year! Well I finally put up a recording of my last gig at The Bitter End on November 13th 2011. I had the great fortune of playing with Danny Taylor on cajon and Eric B. Davis on electric guitar! I also had Robyn Hurder and Tracy Jai Edwards on backup vocals. You can just let the music player automatically select the first track. This is a 6 tune, 30 minute set of my original music. Enjoy!

At the end of the day, crouched in anticipation of the A
I got nothin
Left it all as I strive to
Reaching the blank point,
I set to write but words don't spend time with the spent mind
To end a race, crossing the finish line is something of the great
equalizer
In triumph, it is the fullest zero
A point at which expectations work is a mere checkmark
Anticipations great fortune
A coworker delivers a joke and expects a witty retort
As the window of clever opportunity passes
I respond with dumb giddiness
...I got nothin

A little getaway in the depleted state can feel like the day before a
hike up mount everest
You know that when you get there you gonna feel like a million bucks
but that bag needs to be packed, the car service needs to be booked,
and arrive on time for your 6:30 am flight outta JFK. Your airfare is
too expensive to fly direct so you opt for the Buffalo flight, then a
dollar rent a car over the border to Toronto. You are also aware weeks
beforehand that you gotta do it all over again in reverse the next
morning to get back for the all important work day you've worked so
hard to be so fortunate to hold down.
My travels where as expected above but no matter what you know your
obligations to be or what experience has suggested, you're still taken
by the human element. The part when you look into someones eyes and
though contact has been frequent over the years, you know this to be
unique.
In a day of long distance telephone plans, iChat, Skype, facetime,
facebook, twitter and YouTube it's easy forego that moment.
I'm crossing the border for the zillionth time
I know the drill but a fresh perspective's mine
The girl beside me keeps her cool but radiates like the morning sun to
a jewel
The idea flows that through the chaos is an underlying tone of things
being just right
It's the saving grace of an almost sleepless night
I open the door to my closests
It's the most heightened casual
A special norm
A sweet crawler, not too far from just born
The past takes over and in an instant we are working
This time together
Better than ever
Puffballs and streamers
Wine glass stemmed pipe cleaners
A mic, a guitar
This reaches far
The music plays
Speeches made
We joke but today's your day
A laugh infectious
Courageous, boundless
Attention rivaling the best of artists
Our ode to you
Happy 60th Mom!

I don't know how I fell into this
The air is ever so clear
There's too much time
This smiling heart does not tire
Does not vere
A course eroded by perfect imperfections
Our presence painted on this land
Our world is an ocean fed by rivers and rain
Our thirst, one and the same
Gaining ground on the mountains
Passing the marks of time
Every few years a change of climate etched in the rock as we go by
The elements take their toll and reveal natures way
Since the clear beginning
I've never seen anything so beautifully scarred today

An outstretched glove on the perfect day
A mad dash down the staircase to make the subway
A press of the pedal to beat the light
Your favorite team in a battle so tight
A roll of the dice on the sweetest felt
Makin a move on your hand dealt
A chance for the perfect job
Racing out to beat the mob
A pass on the looker of your dreams
Slippin into those old jeans
Shit.
Almost.
Maybe next time.
